Being able to add your frequently used documents and folders to the Finder sidebar for quick access worked fine until you stuffed it so full, you now spend more time scrolling, than working. This tip won’t reduce your sidebar bloat but it will provide you with another area to overstuff with favorites – the Finder toolbar.
First, grab your favorite object with your mouse and drag it to the located at the top of the Finder window. Then, before dropping it, pause briefly until a long, thin appears, and then just drop your object and it will stay on the toolbar.
Unlike the sidebar, you’ll need to Command+ in order to remove an object from the toolbar.
