Are you an astronomy devotee, like me? Project Constellation is the space transportation system that will replace the Space Shuttle fleet by 2015. Instead of having crew and cargo together, there shall be two separate launch vehicles – the Ares I and the Ares V. NASA offers progress reports via quarterly video podcasts on iTunes.
As NASA puts it – “Listen to the latest updates on NASA’s Ares rockets and their role in America’s journey to the moon.” This is the International Year of Astronomy 2009. Celebrate by taking a moment to learn more about the exciting work being done at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

nasa constellation video
This short NASA video simulates the launch of the Ares I crew launch vehicle (carrying the Orion crew exploration vehicle) and Ares V cargo launch vehicle (carrying the lunar landing module). The simulation includes the Ares launches, the module rendezvous and the descent and landing on the lunar surface. All with a decent soundtrack – NASA rocks.
