Are you tired of being constantly warned by Mac OS X each time you rename a file extension? You can disable the Alert dialog that dutifully confirms that you’re really sure you want to change the file extension. Here’s how to tell Mac OS X not to bother asking ever again.
First, open the Finder preferences. You can do so by either opening the Finder and going to or clicking the desktop and pressing Command+, (that’s Command plus the comma).
Next, click the button and uncheck the option labeled .
Now when you attempt to change a file extension, Mac OS X Leopard will no longer nag you by inquiring if you’re really sure that’s what you wish to do.
