If you have a huge bookmarks collection, locating that one specific bookmark can sometimes be a chore. Sure, you could use Spotlight to search your bookmarks but that’s a bit overkill. So here’s a helpful tip to speed up searching your bookmarks or other collections.
First, open your bookmarks collection by clicking the little book-shaped icon that appears on the left side of the bookmarks bar. Or if you prefer, you may select from the menu, or use the Option+Command+B keyboard shortcut.
On the left, you should now see the column listing your Bookmarks Bar, Bookmarks Menu, Address Book, History, RSS Feeds and more. The main pane will display the contents of whatever is currently selected in the Collection column.
Note the search box near at the bottom of the window. You may leave this set to the default of or click the little magnifying glass to select an individual collection to search. Now you can type in a query to quickly search your bookmarks or any other listed collection.
