Mac OS X provides native support for the popular ZIP archive format. But have you ever wished Spotlight would search the file names inside your zipped archives? That’s precisely what the free Ziplight Spotlight importer plugin does. Take a look.
The Ziplight Spotlight Plugin doesn’t unzip each archived file, so you can’t search for file contents. Instead, Ziplight searches the file names inside ZIP archives. Why? This allows for a more granular search without slowing down Spotlight. Pretty neat.

- Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard → Double-click the plug-in icon.
